Student Life

Royal Crown Academic School is a place our students proudly call home. There is always someone to turn to when you require support, comfort or guidance. Some of the greatest lessons our students learn takes place outside the classroom during one of our many extracurricular activities, clubs, leadership programs or community engagement initiatives. There are so many to choose from, covering a wide range of cultural, educational and recreational interests. Royal Crown students also have the opportunity to engage with the community outside our school, through our outreach programs.

We at Royal Crown know that our new students are entering a new educational system and way of life that may be different than what they are accustomed to. We help our international students integrate into our school, immediately assigning them to a guidance counsellor upon their arrival. The counsellor will work with them to determine their needs and ensure that they are met. Our guidance counsellors are on-hand to answer any questions and plan their courses and schedules. The counsellor will also connect them with a peer at the school who can show them around and take them under their wing.

New International Student
Beyond the classroom and the academic day, life at Royal Crown offers great opportunities for trying new things, honing skills, enjoying self-expression and having fun. With more than 500 students as peers, your child will find many friends that share their interests. And there is always a teacher leading the charge. Here are just some of the activities our clubs focus on.

Mathematics competition, robotics, Science club, Science exhibitions and seminars.

Baseball, basketball, swimming, table tennis, curling, football, aerobics, indoor and outdoor soccer, volleyball, badminton, ski, track & field, squash, rock climbing and weightlifting.

Painting, photography, dance, theatre, creative writing, school newspaper, movie club.
Other Interests: Environment, international languages, cooking.
Royal Crown has leadership activities that provide our students with valuable experiences they can include on their college applications and resumes. Students can participate in DECA, a world-wide high school competition that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. And they can join our Student Union to learn the ins and outs of government. Plus, we offer them the chance to learn debating and public speaking, engage in strategic simulations, get involved in youth charities, join a youth entrepreneur club and learn about other cultures in a simulated United Nations forum.
Leadership Opportunities
Royal Crown Academic School provides ample opportunities to explore issues and help the community. Our students are active in the Blue Monday program that provides hot meals, clothing, non-perishables and school supplies to community members in need. They participate in environmental initiatives such as the recent Climate Strike. They get involved in worthwhile charitable causes such as Movember which is helping change the face of men’s health. They bring art therapy programs to local Seniors homes. And our students painted and designed Winter Activation Murals for three locations in Toronto after securing a private sector grant.
Royal Crown’s Student Services provide students with the support they need, beyond the classroom. They are there to help students with their medical coverage, obtain bank cards and ensure their student visas are up to date. And students can turn to Students Services should they require assistance preparing for the IELTS test. They can arrange for teaching sessions to help students practice for the exams. This includes mock examinations and the development of test strategies.
Student Services
Royal Crown offers field trips to deepen the experiences of our international students in North American culture. These include excursions to Montreal, Niagara Falls, Science Centre, Toronto Zoo, ROM, AGO, Brickworks, Textile Museum, Bata Shoe Museum and university visits. Thanks to our convenient location and short distance to public transit, students are able to explore the best Toronto has to offer, from our world-class sports teams to our incredible shopping and local sights and sounds.

Art Class

Since 2005, Royal Crown Academic School has been providing the best English Summer Camp for international students, right here in Toronto.

Campers not only learn English, they have fun while making lasting friendships. Our staff is well-trained to provide the personalized attention our students need.

A Place For Adventure

Our summer camp goes way beyond the classroom. Students are taken on trips throughout the Toronto area, enjoying a learning experience unlike anything they have experienced before. They will be able to check out the pandas at our world-famous Toronto Zoo, ride the giant rollercoaster at Canada’s Wonderland and hike our many nature trails, while building their language skills along the way.

And we take the fun outside of Toronto as well, with a trip to one of the wonders of the world, Niagara Falls. Our campers also enjoy a 3-day Eastern Canada tour, where they visit Canada’s capital Ottawa, the picturesque Kingston/Thousand Islands area and beautiful Montreal and Quebec City.
